Last week Susan & Robin jetted off to New Orleans. I made a bittersweet decision to sit out on this trip. I sat down with my mom on the couch this afternoon so she could fill me in on all the details of their trip. This may be the most challenging blog post since I wasn't with them experiencing everything firsthand. After hearing about the wonderful time they had I hope to visit New Orleans someday.
They started Tuesday by visiting Shades of Light located on Josephine Street. Shades of Light is a lighting store located one block off Magazine Street and they carry several lampshade lines as well as lamps. We are happy to say they placed an order with International Shades! You can purchase our shades in their store around the first of April!
While they were in New Orleans they also visited with Kevin Stone Antiques. Robin has worked with Kevin in the past doing custom lampshades so they were very glad to reconnect. Kevin was so nice to share his insight on where he thought we needed to be in the New Orleans area.
One of their favorite parts of the trip was of course the food! My mom would call me every night and tell me every detail of her entree and how delicious it was! I have to admit I was a little jealous of all the good food she was getting to eat. :) One night she had bacon wrapped shrimp with grits from Mr. B's Bistro! She told me she had died and gone to Heaven when she savored the first bite. Her other favorite was a ham biscuit from Mother's Restaurant! Those of you that know me know I love me some good ham! Mother's Restaurant is known for their "worlds best baked ham". I was SO jealous as my mom kept going on and on about how delicious their ham was! Definitely putting that on my "must visit" list when I go to New Orleans.
From the delicious food they ate, the beautiful architect New Orleans has to offer, the gorgeous lighting stores, and seeing the set of a movie (I was SUPER jealous) it's safe to say they had a great time and look forward to returning. They visited a few other lighting stores in the area that we hope will place and order with us. The overall response to our shades was wonderful! Designers said "the quality of the shades, work, and details, are incredible."
